A Girl Called Stephen Theatre


A new Reading-based theatre company set to make exciting theatre telling the stories of women and the LGBTQIA+ community. 



CAST are a friendly community theatre group based in Colnbrook, Berkshire, who stage a variety of plays, musicals and traditional pantomime. 

Caversham Park Theatre

The Christmas Fairy Tale

Caversham Park Theatre puts on two productions a year, mainly acting but can sing and dance if required! Usual rehearsal night: Fridays.

Birdsong - 2018

Progress Theatre puts on between 8 and 12 productions a year including its youth shows. Rehearsal times depend on the production and there are many offstage ways to get involved!

Reading On Thames Festival


The Reading-on-Thames Festival brings together a rich tapestry of artists and performers, venues and unusual outdoor sites across Reading to create exhilarating audience experiences and unexpected encounters. 

Reading Operatic Society


ROS perform 2 shows a year in Reading, one in the Hexagon and one in another venue. They rehearse 7.45 pm-10.30pm Mondays and Thursdays, and on some Sundays in Earley. No prior experience required, just enthusiasm!

Reading Rep


Reading’s resident professional theatre combines high-class productions with ground-breaking education and community engagement to help transform Reading and the surrounding area’s cultural landscape. 

Sainsbury Singers


Named after their founder, Frank Sainsbury, The Sainsbury Singers are a group who love to perform high quality musical productions twice yearly in Reading and have an active social calendar. They usually rehearse on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30pm; precise arrangements for each show are notified in advance. 

Shinfield Players


Shinfield Players put on 10 shows a year including plays and musical theatre. Rehearsal times depend on the production and there are many offstage ways to get involved!

Triangle Players


Triangle Players put on 2 plays and a pantomime every year. They rehearse on Wednesday and Friday evenings. 

Woodley Light Operatic Society


WLOS meet weekly on a Tuesday from 7:30pm and put on 1-2 shows a year.  Membership today is, as it always was, made up of people of all ages and occupations. 

Woodley Theatre


 Woodley Theatre puts on 4-5 productions a year, mainly plays, for which they need people both on and off stage. Rehearsal times depend on the production.

STAGE COMBat workshop - 7 dec 2019

Reading Theatre Forum is proud to offer this full-day workshop covering several common stage combat moves, to include a final examinable 10-move fight which will allow participants to leave with a certificate to demonstrate that they have attended the event.

Led by experienced fight director, Dani McCallum. Dani trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Arts Ed, before qualifying as a stage combat instructor. She has advanced qualifications in a wide variety of weapons and a rich knowledge of the history of combat. Dani has fight directed for many professional companies, including the Newbury Watermill, RBL Theatre Co., South Hill Park and more.
